Quick visit to Roswell, NM

Our travels through NM on our way to Durango had us stop in Roswell. We found a very small RV park on the edge of town. It had 14 sites and only 2 were pull through, big enough for our rig. As you know Roswell is known as the Alien Capital of the World but we found out that they would like to change that to the "Dairyland Capital of the Southwest". They could easily meet that title with several dairy farms around the area. We happened to be close to one and as reviews on RV Park Reviews and Trip Advisor had commented the flies at the park were unbearable. We were not able to sit out at all at any time of the day. These comments also were for a nearby State Park called Bottomless Lakes SP. Since we were only there overnight we took a drive into town to check out any alien sightings. We decided not to go to the Alien Museum in town due to poor reviews. We did however find the Roswell Museum and Art Center. A great history of the native people that inhabited the area centuries ago. Wonderful displays of native clothing, guns, swords and artifacts. Enlarge the photos for best viewing.

As we drove through town we did get a few alien sightings at some of the businesses in town.

As I said this was a quick visit and the next morning we got up, hitched up and headed to Bernalillo, NM just NW of Albuquerque our last stop before we get to Durango. Not much to blog about in Bernalillo other than we had a leak in our outdoor shower and I was able to cap it off. We have never used it in the 2 years of full timing so it's gone. Difficult to find replacement parts and not necessary. Anyway we have no leak now. Next post...Durango, CO and meeting friends. Thanks for following along.

  1. Thanks for the warning about the flies. There still seems to be some interesting things to see in Roswell.

    1. It was worth a quick visit. Maybe it would be better at a different time of year.
